PADI Assistant instructor course is the first part of the IDC; it introduces you to the teaching techniques for skill and knowledge development. The course concentrates on duties and programs AIs may conduct independently.
This course expands your abilities beyond what you have learned during the Divemaster course and prepares you to become a PADI instructor.
During this course you will
- Refine your demonstration skills
- Learn how to conduct Confined water sessions
- Learn how to conduct open water sessions
- Learn how to conduct academic sessions
- How to use your instructor manual effectively
- Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or hold a leadership level certification from another organization.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Submit a Medical Statement as fit for diving (not older than 12 months)
- Have been a certified diver for at least six months
- Have completed and logged at least 60 open water scuba divers and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving.
- Submit proof of CPR and first aid training within the last 24 months.
- Submit documentation of qualifying certification for (Entry level, AOW or equivalent, rescue diver, CPR training, Leadership level).
